COSTS

Host company's costs for the complete training period

Your company will remunerate the Vulcanus trainee DIRECTLY,  in accordance with the labor laws of your country.

Normally, in the majority of the countries, the amount of the remuneration complies with the minimum wage (salary),

If the applicable remuneration is lower than the minimal remuneration permitted by Vulcanus, then the latter (*) prevails.

(*) 1000€/month of traineeship - (exception for Italy, detailed below)

Other costs for the company:

The Company will also cover the following costs:

  • Taxes & costs linked with salaries, visas, work permits, if any.
  • Further costs arising from the applicable law in your Member State, if any. (Attention: in Italy: companies are usually requested to also provide accommodation and meals)

{Only for reference}:

Please find some information regarding payment in some EU countries, as of May 2024. Please note that the applicable law in these EU countries may change by the time of the next Vulcanus placement.

  • Germany: Companies pay to the student the monthly national minimum wage, which exceeds 1000€ (range of gross salaries in 2024: from € 1200 to  € 2150, pro-rata, depending on the region, the type of company and the background of the student)
  • Ireland: Companies pay to the student the monthly national minimum wage, which exceeds 1000€ (example of gross salary in 2024: € 2150, pro-rata. Gross salaries may vary, depending on the type of company and the background of the student)
  • France: Companies pay to the student at least € 1000 per month
  • Italy: Companies are requested to provide a direct monthly payment to the student + accommodation + meals.  Such costs for the company are decided at regional level. (In this case, the minimal monthly remuneration permitted by Vulcanus is of 600 € + meals & accommodation, instead of 1000 €).
  • Italy: Administrative procedures for the approval of the traineeship at regional level shall be processed by an intermediate body. Depending on the Regions, intermediate bodies can be either public or private. In the latter case, the cost shall be endorsed by the Company. (In 2024, the most expensive 'Intermediate body' charged about 800€ for its services)
  • Spain: Procedures to apply for the residence permit can be either fulfilled by the company or by a consultant. Should you opt for a consultant, the cost shall be endorsed by your Company

Grant received by the student

On top of the above mentioned remuneration, the students will receive another grant of approx. 5,000 EUR (in Japanese Yen) from the EU-Japan Centre before they arrive in Europe to cover their travel expenses, living expenses during the language course, etc.
